As an observational and computational astronomer, my research largely focuses on finding, following, and interpreting transient optical and infrared phenomena in stellar explosions, using sophisticated computational-analysis tools, most of which I have custom written. My most recent research topics include searching for optical and mid-infrared light echoes around supernovae, tracking young supernovae for the production or destruction of dust, and studying the circumstellar environments of a variety of late-evolutionary-stage stars.
