Ed is carrying out a comprehensive, self-consistent, and spatially-resolved analysis to derive the properties of the stellar, ionized and neutral gas, molecular gas, and dust components across the central starburst region and the outflowing wind in M82. Ed earned his degree from Boston University in 2009, working with Dr. James Jackson. After postdoctoral positions at Northwestern University and the University of Cologne, he began working for the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) in 2014. At SOFIA, He began as a postdoc on the pipeline team, then became an instrument scientist for the GREAT instrument, and finished at SOFIA in 2024 as the data processing and archiving manager.
