Dr. Michelle Salzano is a geospace physicist currently focused on substorm onset related Ultra Low Frequency waves. She received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics with a minor in Applied Mathematics from the New Jersey Institute of Technology honors college in 2016, then went on to complete her PhD in Physics at the University of New Hampshire in 2022. At UNH she split her time between data analysis and hardware work involving ground based searchcoil magnetometers. In particular, she is passionate about polar and Antarctic ground-based research. In addition to her scientific endeavors, Michelle is dedicated to equity, diversity, and inclusivity initiatives, and strives to make space physics an environment where all are welcome. She joined SSI in 2023 as a postdoc research associate.
